Transforming a large suburban garden with ornamental trellis and the revitalisation of its existing fruit trees.

Kind of Project: Large suburban back garden

Design Brief: From a blank canvass, create a new garden from scratch.

My Solution: A design that encapsulated ornamental trellis as an alternative to the existing Lawson Cypress conifers on the right side.

The conifers cast exceptional shade so the new, wavered garden trellis enabled revitalisation of the existing fruit trees, among other things. We created a semi treehouse, providing a fun space for the client’s children, and erected green open-pale fencing to prevent them playing by the pond unsupervised.

We planted climbers, shrubs, herbaceous perennials and bulbs in tiers to lift the garden so the foliage, flower, bark and berry provided visual interest all year around.

We also laid new paths using Stowmarket millstone, and the existing rockery and pond were revamped with additional appropriate planting.

Client Verdict: “Kevin’s attention to detail and natural ability to harmonise plants highlights his professionalism. Thanks, Kevin. We are enjoying and will continue to enjoy, this great garden. We recommended him to the brother-in-law.” Helen Wilson
